In the sculpting process its ability to build off the previous stoke allows you to quickly create forms and detail that does not look out of place in the overall model. The way it sculpts the model is subtle enough not to make abrupt changes. Clay Buildup BrushĬlay Buildup Brush is the main brush for a lot of artists particularly for organic modelling. In this article we will discuss the purpose of these brushes and how you can implement them into your workflow. As such I have put together the below table of my recommendations. From my research and experience the usage of these brushes vary depending on if you are Organic or Hard Surface Modelling. Out of the hundred plus brushes there are only a few I would recommend to regularly use. With this wide array of brushes it can be very easy to get distracted by which brush to use and focus less on the art itself. The number of brushes made available to you is astonishing. You can extrude each strap individually to add some variety to it or press control+w to make them all one poly groin the extract them. When first learning Zbrush it is very easy to become overwhelmed. In the lower part of the panel select polygroup all. In the newly opened panel select extrude. Hover over a polygons face the press space. Once you happy with how it looks use the z modeler brush to add thickness to it. Use the auto group feature, so you can easily isolate individual straps) Using the move brush or move topological brush, move the straps around a bit to overlap on top of each other around the edges. Inflate it just a bit so it sits on top of the Handel. Then sharpen it again.Įxtract the mask with 0 thickness. You can shrink the mask a bit to get cleaner separation for each strap. Once you have split where each strap would be into polygroups, switch back to select rect brush. Use the slice curve brush to create new poly groups where each strap would be. If your subtool is dynameshed it could be hard to see the poly groups so you can turn off the wireframe by pressing the word line on the polyf icon on the right side of the ui. It will replace select rect (control+shift). Select Slice curve brush in the brush palette. I would suggest that you use the slice curve brush to achieve this.
